Germany arrests suspect as ISIS member
Germany's Federal Prosecutor's Office announced that the country's Federal Criminal Police arrested a man on suspicion of being a member of so-called "ISIS" in the Waldeck-Frankenberg area in northern Hesse on Wednesday, October 8 (September 30).
This man, whom the prosecutor called "Nuri A.", was born in Kuwait and, according to judicial authorities, joined ISIS in Iraq by January 2016 at the latest and worked as a fighter in various units of this group until the spring of 2017. These allegations have not yet been proven in court.
The suspect was previously arrested on September 14 by a federal court judge.
The German Federal Prosecutor accused him of being a member of a terrorist organization abroad.
"Nuri A.", after being transferred to the Federal Court in Karlsruhe, was sent to prison under a temporary arrest warrant.
