🔶 The import of luxury cars was stopped by Pazashkian's order

Mohammad Atabek, the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of the Republic of Salami announced on Wednesday, 8 March (September 30), that the import of luxury cars will be stopped by order of the President. Atabek added, this ban also includes Iranians living abroad and the government's priority is to provide "economical cars".

Atbek said at the meeting of the Parliament's Principle 90 Committee, the Ministry of Defense intercepted the 100% tariff for luxury vehicles about two weeks ago, and as a result the import of these cars was stopped.

At the same meeting, Nasrallah Fajmanfar, chairman of the 90th Principles Committee of the Parliament, referring to the limitation of foreign exchange resources, considered the importation of expensive cars to be the cause of increasing pressure on the foreign exchange market and the outflow of capital, and called for prioritizing the supply of cars to the middle class and applicants with real needs. This decision was made in the context of high inflation, rising gasoline prices, devaluation of the national currency and rising costs housing, food and other basic needs, reducing the purchasing power of many Iranian households and making it difficult to meet daily expenses.
