Will the Islamic Republic rewrite its core doctrine?

Iran's nuclear issue has entered one of its most sensitive and ambiguous historical periods; a situation that, according to international observers, has highlighted the ambiguity of Iran's willingness to abandon 60% enriched uranium, the reduction of IAEA inspections, and the emergence of new debates in political circles about the effectiveness of Iran's traditional deterrence tools more than ever before.

On the surface, there are signals of an inclination toward diplomacy; Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, announced on September 25 in an interview with Fox News that Tehran is ready to give up its 60% uranium stockpiles and limit the level of enrichment if a comprehensive agreement is reached within the framework of international laws and the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

However, against this diplomatic statement, the evidence on the ground and the positions of military and political authorities in Tehran present a different scenario to observers.
