Approval of an additional 5-year prison sentence for Ali Younesi in the Court of Appeals

Breathing in a Cage, the news arm of the Iranian Prisoners' Human Rights League, reported that the sentence of Ali Younisi, the imprisoned student, was upheld by the Court of Appeals on Friday, October 4, and "he will face an additional five years in prison."

This judgment was previously issued by Branch 29 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran. According to the information published in this report, Ali Younisi's case resulted in this verdict being given in circumstances where he was previously sentenced to prison for interception and political activity.

Ali Younisi and Amir Hossein Moradi, two imprisoned students, were previously sentenced to 15 months in prison in the summer of 1404, each accused of "propaganda activity against the regime". At the same time, Ali Younisi was sentenced to five more years in prison during the trial.

On August 18, attorney Mustafa Neely announced new prison sentences to Amir Hossein Moradi and Ali Younisi, elite students, by publishing a post on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
