About 13 million barrels of oil pass through the Strait of Hormuz every day.

US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said in an interview with Lara Trump on Fox News on Saturday that about 13 million barrels of oil are being exported through the Strait of Hormuz with the help of US military forces. He added that on one of the days of last week, the amount of oil passing through this waterway reached more than 20 million barrels, and this figure was even higher than the level before the war.

Wright confirmed that US forces played an active role in the operation facilitating the transfer of oil, gas and fertilizer through the Strait of Hormuz. He called the US military presence not only a mechanism for implementing a naval blockade against Iran, but also a factor facilitating the logistics of global energy trade.

Before the start of the Iran war, about 20 million barrels of oil were transported daily through the Strait of Hormuz, which was equivalent to a fifth of the world's supply. The daily average of 13 million barrels, which the US Energy Secretary mentioned in an interview with Fox News, is equal to about 65% of the pre-war level of oil flow.
