Abbas Irakichi, Iran's foreign minister, in a conversation with reporters on the sidelines of the UN assembly, emphasized that Tehran's conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz are clear and the proposals were conveyed to America through intermediaries, and Tehran is not ready to "fall" from these conditions.

Arguing that America has reached an impasse, Irakichi said that only a "negotiated solution can get them out of this impasse." He claimed that Tehran continued on the path of negotiations and diplomacy and for this reason "is in a superior political position".

Iraqchi previously said that Iran presented a "specific seven-day plan" to the US through Qatar to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and if the conditions desired by Tehran are met, the Strait of Hormuz could be reopened to international shipping and normal traffic in this waterway could resume within seven days. On the other hand, the American president announced the rejection of this plan and called Tehran's plan "unacceptable". He said that Iran "deceived itself" in trying to close the Strait of Hormuz.
