Faisal bin Farrakhan, the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Saturday, September 26, warned the members of this organization that the efforts to block waterways in the Middle East pose a threat to global energy security and the international community must take additional measures to protect the freedom of shipping.

He emphasized: "The international community has been absent in fulfilling its responsibility to deal with everything that threatens international peace and security."

After the start of the war between the United States and Israel's captives with Iran on February 28 (March 9 last year), Tehran caused widespread disruption to international shipping by blocking the Strait of Hormuz. On the other hand, Yemen's Houthi militias, supported by the Republic of Salmi, carried out a similar operation in the Belmandab strait and by shooting at oil tankers and commercial ships, they threatened the security of shipping on one of the world's most important oil and gas transport routes.
