Massoud Pazhkian, the president of Iran, said in an interview with the "Face of the Nation" program of the "Sibias" network that the Republic of Salamis does not aspire to build nuclear weapons, and based on Ali Khamenei's fatwa, building such weapons is prohibited.

Pazhkian added that this prohibition is not only a legal aspect, but also a "religious ruling" and according to him, even if people in Iran want to build nuclear weapons, based on this fatwa, they must not move in that direction.

He also said that Iran is ready to negotiate the nuclear program and IAEA inspections within the framework of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, but conditioned the inspections on reaching a new framework in the negotiations.

A number of officials and figures of the Salami Republic recently raised the possibility of "changing the nuclear doctrine" or "moving towards nuclear weapons in special circumstances" and some even said about its "deterrent value".
