🔶 France wants to prepare decisions to free shipping in the Strait of Hormuz

France is drafting resolutions in the UN Security Council in support of freeing shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

A UN diplomat, who did not want to be named, said that the Strait of Hormuz is very important for global transportation and ensuring food and energy security, and this decision will emphasize the need to comply with the release of shipping in this waterway.

The proposed resolution will also emphasize respect for the laws of the sea and support for peace initiatives to ensure the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

Before the war, about a fifth of the world's oil and gas exports passed through the Strait of Hormuz.
