In response to Saudi Arabia's request for an urgent military meeting, Turkey and Pakistan are sending their top commanders to Riyadh. An action that could be a sign of Ankara and Islamabad coming closer to directly supporting Saudi Arabia in the war with the Houthis.

Turkey's Ministry of Defense confirmed on Friday, October 3 (September 25) that General Selcuk Bayroktraoglu, the Chief of General Staff of the Turkish Army, will travel to Saudi Arabia. Al Jazeera also reported that Asim Munir, the commander of Pakistan's defense forces, is expected to arrive in Riyadh soon.

These developments occurred after Saudi Arabia asked Turkey and Pakistan to send their military commanders to Riyadh to review the implementation of the joint defense agreement.

This request was made in a situation where Houthi missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia have increased in recent weeks and the war in Yemen has once again expanded into Saudi Arabia.
