🔶 Meeting of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan to investigate the Houthi attacks

According to the news media, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan are going to hold an urgent and high-level meeting to decide, among other things, the level of military and security support from Saudi Arabia against the Houthi attacks in Yemen.

According to the official news agency of Saudi Arabia, the announcement of holding such an urgent meeting occurred after the meeting of Faisal bin Farhan, Hakan Fidan and Ishaq Dar, the foreign ministers of the three countries, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

In this meeting, held on Thursday, September 24 (October 2), they condemned the Houthis' latest attacks on Mecca and the civil and economic infrastructure of Saudi Arabia, and also emphasized Riyadh's right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.

Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan signed a joint defense agreement in August to strengthen their collective security. The agreement, called the Mecca Treaty, was signed in Saudi Arabia in the presence of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
