On Wednesday, September 23, the United Arab Emirates announced the establishment and implementation of strict sanctions measures against branches of the National Bank of Iran.

The Central Bank of the Emirates, in publishing a statement in this regard, clarified that the application of these sanctions was implemented due to the violations related to non-compliance with regulations, laws and regulatory decisions in this country.

In this context, this institution also emphasizes the expected obligations within the framework of the prohibition of money laundering, liquidation financing and weapons distribution financing.

According to the statement of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, it is prohibited to carry out any financial transaction from or to Iran for all branches of the National Bank of Iran in this country. This ban also includes trade financing and money transfers.
