Society changes, even when the political system stops changing. People's demands and lifestyles change over time, but according to analysts, a government that stands in front of them instead of accompanying these developments, sooner or later its distance from society will become so great that it will no longer be possible to return to the past.

Mandatory hijab is one of the clear examples of this break. Experts believe that the insistence on maintaining it, in front of a generation that no longer accepts it, is a sign of the government's inability to keep up with society, and not an obstacle to change. Society will eventually part ways with the politics it seeks to stop.

This issue was the basis of Mana Nistani designing this week's cartoon for DW Farsi.
