Charles Spencer's book about the life of his late sister, Princess Diana, and her previous marriage to Charles III, the current King of Great Britain, was released to bookshops today, Tuesday, September 22 (September 31).

The book, titled The Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, was published worldwide by Penguin and translated into 12 languages.

The memoir sparked controversy within the royal family even before it was published, as the publication of parts of it before the book's release, which contained Spencer's controversial claims, drew an unprecedented backlash and denial from the British monarch.

Charles Spencer, the 9th Earl Spencer, is Diana's younger brother, who has long been at odds with the royal family over the way they treated his sister.
