Following the announcement by the US Treasury Secretary regarding the ban on the activities of Iranian airlines in the world in the coming days, Iraq and Georgia also announced after Turkey that the entry of Iranian airlines to these countries would be prohibited.

Two Iraqi government sources told AFP on Monday, September 21 (30 Shahrivar) that Baghdad would suspend the flights of Iranian airlines following the announcement by the US Treasury Department.

An Iraqi official source told Agence France-Presse that Iraq "will implement the ban on Iran's airlines in accordance with the decision of the US Treasury from Tuesday (September 22)." He added, countries that do not implement this decision face the risk of sanctions by the United States.
