British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said that this country agreed to Saudi Arabia's request to support and carry out the security aerial refueling operation temporarily.

He added that after consultation with Wes Streeting, Defense Secretary and Ed Miliband, Foreign Secretary and their advice, he gave a positive answer to this request.

Before traveling to New York to attend the UN General Assembly, Burnham told reporters: "We received a request for military support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and I agreed to this request for security aerial refueling based on the recommendation of the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of State."

London's military support to Riyadh will be carried out in a limited framework and will focus on refueling Saudi Arabian planes to counter and defend against drone and missile attacks by the Houthis in Yemen. According to news media, this support will begin in the coming days and will likely last for several weeks.
