According to the Anatolia news agency, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Defense announced on Friday, September 18, that the Multinational Maritime Defense Coalition held its fourth planning meeting in Saudi Arabia on Thursday.

According to the Ministry's announcement published on the X social network, this meeting was held in Jeddah and was part of "the continued transition of the coalition from the formation phase to the operational implementation phase, after achieving initial operational capability."

Saudi officials announced that this meeting was attended by representatives of 41 "friend and brother" countries as well as representatives of the European Union.

The coalition is a 14-nation military alliance established in July to ensure that vital waterways around the Arabian Peninsula, including the Gulf of Aden, the Strait of Babel Mandav and the Red Sea, remain open to international traffic. The Saudi Ministry of Defense emphasized that this coalition is currently busy combining capabilities and preparing for the implementation of the operation and real preparation in the maritime operation area.
