Advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates: A conversation with Iran is the key to ending the crisis

Anwar Gargash, the diplomatic adviser to Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, stressed the importance of keeping communication channels open with Iran to help the region recover from months of conflict.

Referring to the recent meeting between Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed and Masoud Pazhkian, the president of Iran, at the BRICS summit in Delhi, Gargash said that this meeting showed how important the voice of reason is to restoring peace and stability.

He also said that there is "agreement on the necessity of opening a new chapter" in the talks between Sheikh Khaled and the President of Iran.

Gargash added: "We will protect our interests if necessary. But there will certainly be discussions with Iran's leadership, especially with the president of this country, who has made several statements so far."
