US officials told Axius that the US military attacked two small Iranian boats in the Strait of Hormuz after Revolutionary Guard forces tried to seize a US Navy drone.

An American official told Axios that the Revolutionary Guards used these boats to try to capture a naval drone; the drone used by the US military to patrol the Strait of Hormuz.

According to this official, after detecting this attempt, an American drone fired two missiles at the boats and destroyed them. He claimed that most of the people in these boats were killed.

Tim Hawkins, a spokesman for the US Central Command, CENTCOM, confirmed the attempt to seize the US naval drone.

According to him, "small Iranian boats recently tried to take over an unmanned American surface ship, but they failed after Centcom's decisive response. Hawkins added that this naval drone is still under the operational control of the United States."
