Republic of Salami of Iran launched a system called "Alza", which based on the entry of government communications, is intended to identify and track Iranians abroad who, according to the Salami Republic, act against the interests and security of the state. This system asks citizens to present information on people they say are "traitors", "separatists" or "anti‑patriots" to the Salami Republic.

The Pars News Agency and Salami Republic radio and television presented "Alza" as a tool to identify and punish "foreign traitors".

Based on this, supporting sanctions, a military ground attack on Iran, separatist activity and cooperation with movements the government deems anti‑patriotic are among the things that could expose a person to surveillance.

In the introduction of this system it is said that its purpose is to monitor networks supporting assassinations, their financial resources and individuals undermining the country's security from the perspective of battalion personnel. This process is to be carried out based on continuous monitoring and collection of information about the mentioned individuals.

This system requires citizens to send details of people they believe fall under these definitions via the system's website or accounts entered in internal messages and Telegram.

In promoting "Alza" it is claimed that the reporters' information remains confidential and encryption mechanisms are used to protect their identities.
