🔶 Summoning the Iranian ambassador in Mauritania for "behavior contrary to diplomatic custom"
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mauritania summoned Jawad Abu Aliakbar, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic in Nouakchott, to inform him of his official interception regarding "some behaviors and movements contrary to diplomatic customs and traditions."
This ministry announced on Monday, September 14 (23 Shahrivar) that the Iranian ambassador was summoned in connection with actions that the Mauritanian government considers "incompatible with the rules governing the activities of diplomats in the host countries."
The summoning of the ambassador of the Republic of Salami in Mauritania took place one day after the country's media reported that three people were arrested in the village of "Bosdeira" in the town of Boutalmit, in western Mauritania, following the visit of the Iranian ambassador to that area.
Local sources said that the reason for the arrest of these people is that they fired shots in the air when they welcomed the Iranian ambassador and on the occasion of his arrival in Busdeira.
