🔶 A sharp drop in ship traffic in the Strait of Hormuz at the beginning of the week
According to Reuters, on Monday, September 14, only 4 ships carrying goods passed through the Strait of Hormuz. On the other hand, the Tanker Tracker Institute reported that the operating method of shipping companies has changed to avoid high risk areas.
The Reuters news agency reported on Tuesday, September 15 (24 in Sharivar), citing the initial data of the Kepler Institute, that the passage of commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz faced a significant decrease, and on Monday, September 14, only 4 ships carrying goods passed through this vital strait.
According to this news agency, of the 4 vessels registered on Monday, 2 tankers left the Strait of Hormuz and 2 empty tankers also entered this waterway. This figure shows a considerable decrease compared to the traffic of 10 boats on Sunday. The experts of the Kepler Institute emphasize that this figure only includes vessels that kept the radar and the automatic identification systems, and therefore it is possible that some of the ships passed through this strait without sending a signal and with the system turned off.
