🔶 Grossi: Lack of awareness of Iran's nuclear materials is a serious concern

At the 70th General Assembly of the IAEA in Vienna, Raphael Grossi, Director General of the IAEA, called the lack of knowledge about the state of uranium reserves in Iran a cause for serious concern.

On Monday, the 23rd of Sharibar (September 14), he said at this meeting, the state of the agency's monitoring of Iran's nuclear program in 2026 has deteriorated, and this agency has not carried out any verification activity in this country for more than six months, with the exception of the inspection of the Bushehr nuclear power plant in June.

Grossi considered the lack of information on previously declared nuclear materials and the lack of access to facilities to verify them as an issue that causes serious concern about the proliferation of nuclear weapons and "must be addressed with the utmost urgency."

The Director General of the IAEA called the return to diplomacy and negotiations "necessary" and said: "The agency is ready to support such efforts."
