Damage from economic crimes in Russia for eight months of 2026 increased by almost 160 billion rubles and reached 397.2 billion rubles, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. At the same time last year, it was 238 billion rubles. From January to August, law enforcement identified 86,300 economic crimes, which is 6.3% more than a year before. Of these, 71.4% are particularly serious. The total damage of all crimes in criminal cases pre-invested and suspended for this period reached 570.5 billion rubles.
