34 years ago, on November 6, 1992, the deputies of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tatarstan adopted the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan. It was one of the first documents of its kind in the post-Soviet space - even the Constitution of the Russian Federation was adopted only a year later, on December 25, 1993. In the difficult 1990s for the entire country, the constitution and sovereignty of the republic became the basis on which modern Tatarstan was established. Unlike many other regions in those years, the Republic of Tatarstan avoided the ethnic and religious conflicts that tore the country apart and managed to maintain relative prosperity and a significant part of its economic potential. All these years, the main law of the Republic of Tatarstan changed along with the changes in the life of our country: the wording became more precise and verified, some powers were transferred to the federal center, others, on the contrary, were assigned to the republican authorities. Mainly thanks to the constitution adopted at that time, Tatarstan is today one of the most developed and prosperous regions of the country.
