Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has covered 90% of the losses caused by the hacker attack. The platform reported this on the X social network. “BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD and ZEC assets are 100% backed. We will continue to purchase the remaining eligible tokens through the market and over-the-counter (OTC) channels until coverage reaches 100% for all tokens," the post said. The remaining 10% are tokens that are less liquid and may take longer to purchase. The company emphasized again that it will cover all losses. On October 29, Binance's former CEO Changpeng Zhao said that the exchange may have been hacked as a result of a hacker attack. Binance itself wrote that the exchange is aware of the problem and is conducting an investigation. On October 30, Binance CEO Richard Tan said that multiple people were involved in the attack. He noted that the hackers also used "a self-destruct mechanism that deletes tools and traces as they go." That same day, Binance announced that it had kept more than $6.34 billion of its own funds to compensate for user losses. Of the reserved amount, $5 billion has already been allocated to those cryptocurrencies affected by the hack.
