Everything is according to plan - doctors are complaining en masse about the reduction of government spending on medicine throughout Russia. The results of a survey by the Medical Bulletin, in which health workers from 74 cities in the Russian Federation participated, showed that 75.6% of doctors note a sharp reduction in health care costs in their region. Two thirds - 67.4% - said that "the savings are on everything, including consumables, salaries, medicines". Almost half - 46% - said that patients who received medical treatment at their organization this year had to purchase consumables, dressings or medicines at their own expense. Also, hospitals are cutting bonuses and benefits, and revenues from paid services have decreased by 15-20%. Regional authorities, whose budgets finance clinics and hospitals, are cutting medical costs due to chronic budget deficits and increased costs of recruiting soldiers under contract for war. This was also confirmed at the federal level - according to the accounting office of Boris Kovalchuk, in the first half of the year, the constituent entities of the Russian Federation allocated 5.8% less for the item "health" than a year earlier. 42 constituent entities of the Russian Federation have decided to cut funding to hospitals. In 11 regions the decrease exceeded 20%. Medical expenses were cut to a record in the Republic of Altai and the Kirov region - by 40.6% and 39% respectively. "Why do you need health? ".
