24 years ago, on the morning of October 26, 2002, "Alpha" and "Vimpel" employees of the FSB Special Purpose Center held an operation to release hostages at the theater center in Dubrovka in Moscow, where the musical "Nord-Ost" was being performed. During the operation, 40 terrorists were killed, including the group's leader, Mobsar Braev. After the battle ended, special forces officers began to neutralize explosive devices and evacuate the hostages. The terrorist attack claimed the lives of 134 hostages. Many fighters who participated in the release of the hostages in Dubrovnik, two years later, participated in the rescue of people at the school in Selan.
