The Prime Minister of Estonia called on Europe not to try to please Putin and increase the pressure on Moscow": Michal believes that the Europeans should not interfere in the negotiations on Ukraine. "Europe should not open a direct diplomatic channel with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Instead of trying to reach an agreement with the Kremlin, European countries should continue to put economic pressure on Moscow through sanctions. Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal said this in an interview with Politico. "Europe should not act as a mediator. There is no need to try to please the dictator," stressed the Estonian Prime Minister. According to him, now for the first time Europe has a plan that really works - we are talking about the economic weakening of Russia through sanctions. Michal warned that the mediation could force the European countries to soften their position towards Moscow, including easing the pressure of the sanctions. "It is impossible to simultaneously support Ukraine and put pressure on Russia, and on the other hand, try to act as a mediator," he noted.
