Iranian state television issued a warning to citizens on what to do in the event of a nuclear attack: « Do not look into the bright light of the explosion. If you are outside and cannot immediately enter the building, take shelter behind a barrier, lie on the ground and cover your head and face. After the shock wave passes, enter the nearest building, do not stay to watch or take pictures, and do not take cover inside the vehicle. Inside the building, head to the basement or center, away from windows and exterior walls. Close doors and windows, turn off the air conditioner or any ventilation that draws air from the outside. If you are exposed to the outdoor environment, remove the outer clothing without shaking off the dust, put it in a sealed bag away from people, but do not go out to throw it outside. Shower with warm soapy water, use regular shampoo without conditioner, and if you cannot shower, clean your face, hands and bare skin with water or wet wipes. Use bottled water and packaged food, and prepare to stay in the shelter for at least 24 hours. Do not assume the environment is safe after 24 hours, follow official and emergency notifications for a safe exit. If a fire breaks out in a building or there is a risk of collapse, move to a safer shelter."
