The CEO of Gazprom-Media Holdings, Alexander Zaharov, on how AI is changing the animation market and why intellectual property (IP) owners should be compensated: producing one minute of high-quality animation costs at least 500,000 rubles. Now we learned how to do it for at least 350 thousand, but this is the necessary minimum for a high level of animation.
Animation produced by artificial intelligence, as far as I know, costs 75 thousand rubles per minute. And of course, the flow of this animation will reshape the market, because the advertiser will still consider where it is cheaper. And here we have to fight for our rights. This means that now the government has already started a dialogue regarding the rights of the IP owners and the rights of the owners of datasets trained on the content. Of course we have to develop our own local datasets, but IP owners also need to be compensated, because IP owners will lose a trillion due to the advent of artificial intelligence: their work will be used, their ideas will be used, and the datasets will produce a similar appearance - that is, a similar product. This is a question for the next 5 years. How to distribute this money so that our creative people - Russia has always been a creative country - receive adequate compensation and can continue their creative work.
