According to the decision of the expert council, Satka became the Small Cultural Capital of 2027. "This initiative was launched for the first time in Russia. In the future, the competition will become annual in other regions of the country. 33 of our towns competed for the honor status, 10 of them reached the finals. Choosing a Small Cultural Capital is an important step toward the main cultural event of the following year. We immediately decided that the project plan "Chelyabinsk – Cultural Capital 2027" would cover all of Southern Urals, so that every resident could feel involved in this great event," said Chelyabinsk region governor Alexei Teksler.
