Ambulance doctors of Omsk appealed to the prosecutor's office due to mass layoffs An ambulance team from the central district hospital of Maryanovskaya in the Omsk region sent requests to the prosecutor's office and Rozderbendzor demanding to stop the layoffs of all local dispatchers. The hospital management plans to move the reception of calls to a single call center in Omsk from December in order to save money. However, the doctors themselves are absolutely against it. The municipal operators do not know the complex geography of the area, which, under conditions of frequent communication interruptions and a clear lack of coordination, may cost patients their lives. The situation worsens due to a catastrophic lack of personnel and equipment. According to the data of the "Action" trade union, instead of the twenty-one paramedic positions required by the standard, only eight specialists work in the area. An area with a radius of up to 150 kilometers is usually served by one worn-out car with one medic. Because of this, the waiting time for emergency assistance for heart attacks and strokes exceeds two hours, and the regional center and the federal highway are often left without coverage. The conflict between the staff and the management also increased against the background of the attempts to cut wages. The administration prevents the doctors from incentive payments for not complying with an unrealistic daily call plan, and overtime for drivers has been handled for years in violation of the labor law. The emergency services crisis is taking place against a background of a general decline in infrastructure. Due to a lack of staff, new rural medical posts stand idle, and the regional clinic building has remained semi-abandoned for many years. Photo: "Action" trade union.
