Support for economic reforms in Russia has decreased in Russian society there is a trend towards cooling attitudes towards the government's economic policy. According to the latest data from the Institute of Socio-Political Research of the Federal Scientific Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, only 38% of citizens evaluate the ongoing reforms positively. At the same time, the total share of those who criticize the actions of the authorities (23%) or are completely indifferent to them (24%) reached 47%, which deprives the supporters of the current policy of their previous confident advantage. The attitude towards economic changes depends directly on the gender and age of the respondents. Women show more optimism, and give positive assessments in 42.5% of cases, while among men this figure is 33.2%, and the level of criticism and indifference is significantly higher. The biggest support for the government is given by pensioners over 60 and young people from 25 to 30. The most dissatisfied were citizens aged 51 to 60 - almost a third of them openly disapproved of the actions of the authorities. The decisive factor in evaluating the reforms remains the level of personal well-being of the citizens. Among the richest Russians, almost 70% support the government's policies, but among the poorest category of the population, the level of optimism drops to 9%. Sociologists point out that current indicators point to a decline in economic sentiment. If at the end of 2024 the government support reached a historical maximum of 50%, then in the spring of 2026 there was a considerable cooling.
