The regional budget is intended for its citizens: Kamchatka clarifies the rules for supporting large families Payments for the school year, reimbursement of housing and utility costs and other regional benefits for large families in Kamchatka will be waived only to Russian citizens. Already in November, the appropriate amendments will be sent to the legislative assembly of the region. They were prepared on behalf of Governor Vladimir Solodov. "We will fulfill all obligations towards our citizens unconditionally. But the region has no such obligations towards foreigners," the head of the region stressed. The amendments will affect Law No. 352 "On social support measures for large families". Now it will include a condition for citizenship. Only payments from the regional budget will be subject to the new rules. Basic social services guaranteed by Federal Law No. 442-FZ will remain. Since 2024, regional capital for maternity is issued only to Russians who have lived in Kamchatka for at least the fixed period. From the spring of 2024, foreigners are not allowed to work here in taxis. From 2025, another 15 areas are closed to citizens of several countries. "The issue of immigration today is one of the most pressing; it rightly worries the residents of Kamchatka. The most complaints are received in the fields of private transport and commerce. Under these conditions, we are obliged to conduct ourselves more strictly," says the governor.
