The product lead for Anthropic subscriptions explains this by saying that such names would be more informative. When we launched our highest plan in April 2025, it had a single 5 hour limit. This gave 20x the Peru limit, so we called it 20x max. When we added weekly limits to the 20x max, we set them to 10x from Pro (the 5 hour limit remained at 20x). I understand that some new users have suggested that 20x applies to both limits. We could have been more transparent about that, and I'm sorry. Lately, there has been a lot of dissatisfaction around Anthrop's subscribers regarding the non-compliance with the stated limits. So they decided to remove every number and X from the names completely, probably not to encourage anyone but there is one more reason and at the same time good news: for verified ultra accounts the 5 hour limit is completely removed. Now sessions won't be stopped in the middle, and you'll only have to follow weekly limits.
