Google lost almost 500 billion dollars in one day after the publication of the quarterly report Alphabet shares fell by 12.6%. Despite 25% revenue growth, investors were concerned about huge spending on AI and a slowdown in Google's advertising business. During the third quarter, the company spent $51.4 billion on capital expenditures, mostly on servers and data centers. Free cash flow was negative ($9.1 billion). Investments of 195-205 billion dollars are planned for the entire year 2026, and in 2027 the expenses will increase even more. At the same time, Google Cloud's revenue doubled to $30.7 billion. However, search revenue growth slowed to 12%, and Google admitted that AI-mode queries still monetize worse than traditional search. At the same time, in Finland, the authorities suspended preparatory work at two Google sites for new data centers.
