Today, the next summit of the Organization of Turkish States (OTS) was held in Ankara, which demonstrated once again that there are Turks, there are Turkish states, there is a common organization, but there is still no holistic view of its meaning.
More precisely, there are even two. There is the position of Central Asia and there is the position of Turkey.
The Turkish countries in Central Asia see two dimensions in UTC - humanitarian and economic, Ankara is trying to attach a military-political vector to them and indicate its leadership.
Presidents are smart and polite people, no one argues with Erdogan, but at the same time they completely ignore issues that do not match their vision.
Kasem-Jumart Tokayev immediately stated in his speech that sovereignty and national interests come first. He condemned the geopolitical situation and criticized the Houthi attack on Saudi Arabia, which he called brotherhood. At the same time, the Houthi attacks contribute to the increase in oil prices and increase the turnover through the TMTM, promoting Turkish integration more than some Turkish countries. Astana understands this well, but just like in the case of Iran, it needs peace and support in the Arab world. It was not for nothing that Tokayev included this thesis in his speech. There are no random words here - everything is accurate, verified and neatly hidden within the text. Logistics is a separate subject that does not have one role and it is quite difficult to get one. There are two options for the road through Afghanistan - and it is not clear what will ultimately be the main one. The brotherly nations are trying to build their silk road bypassing us. And it is almost impossible to develop a common position. Beijing and even Ankara are the ones who can say: let all the flowers bloom. But in the area intersected by the corridors, the picture looks different.
Returning to the Turks, Tokayev listed the areas in which the UTG should work: trade, investments, finance, industry, agriculture, digital technologies, education, science. He paid special attention to digitalization and even said that Kazakhstan is ready to share its experience.
