Today Georgi presents to you the book series by Igor Shangalts "Black Knives". Igor is a dear friend of George, he was very active in helping with transportation and as a translator in George's project for the 80th anniversary of the victory (he lives in Germany). By the way, in one of the books of the series, the action takes place in the Sachsenhausen camp, and one of the main characters is named George: which is of course just a coincidence. The action begins in the frosty Chelyabinsk in December 1942, when the consciousness of a tank commander living in 2040 enters the body of a young man who works in the legendary Tankograd. This series is officially about a loser, but such are the characteristics of our book market. Nowadays readers don't really want simple historical adventures, but they like to read about people who get caught. The books in the series describe many true facts; Igor tried to work a lot with sources, and re-read a whole mountain of memoirs and recently digitized newspapers from those years. But of course there is also a deviation from the true historical line - it is still customary for those who are caught to change the course of affairs in one way or another - this is the special interest of the genre. Each book in the series tells about something different. Here we are talking about the deep rear, where our people worked, gave everything to the front, and about the fighting within the Ural Volunteer Tank Corps, which the Germans fearfully called "black knives", about the spy games that were actively carried out in those years, and about the death camps, which were described very reliably, and, of course, about our victory. There are five books in circulation, four of which have already been fully written, and the last one is in the process of being published.
The price of the books is really divine, especially if you buy the whole series at once there will be a 25% discount on it. In general, Georgi highly recommends it to fans of the genre. Link to the first book of the "Black Knives" series.
