Meghan Markle's father arrested on charges of possession of child sexual abuse material Federal agents arrested 82-year-old Thomas Markle on November 6 near Tampa, Florida, the Associated Press reported, citing sources. The indictment refers to materials that investigators say he stored in two storage units in the Los Angeles area. Merkel has hired them since 2008. Investigators entered the warehouses after reports of a discovery in the Philippines. In October, Thomas Markle Jr. told the Sun tabloid that he discovered the materials in the boxes while going through his father's belongings at his former home in Cebu City. Authorities in the Philippines received four boxes containing, among other things, computers, telephones, hard drives and video tapes. Philippine Interior Secretary Johnwick Ramola said about 7,500 photographs and one video of minors were found in the transmitted media. Some of the children looked 10 or 11 years old. Thomas Markle Sr. denied the allegations and called them lies. Meghan Markle previously said that in 2018, London police received a letter with allegations against her father. According to her, she was then assured that the information had been checked. She decided to keep her distance from her father and not allow him to communicate with her children. Thomas Markle worked as a lighting designer on American television and won two Daytime Emmy Awards for his work on General Hospital. He did not attend the wedding of Meghan and Britain's Prince Harry in 2018.
