Russia has introduced a temporary ban on the export of certain types of petrochemical products from the country outside the EAEU, the website of the Russian Cabinet of Ministers reported. The restriction is activated for three months and applies to the export of benzene, coal and oil, toluene, orthoxylene, paraxylene and phenol. They are used, among other things, in the production of paint coatings for automotive engineering, airplanes, ships and railroads, food packaging, floor coverings and insulating materials for cable products, and in the medical industry, the report states. The government explained this decision by "maintaining a stable supply of raw materials for Russian industrial plants". Manufacturers of chemical products in Russia are attacked by the Ukrainian army. Only in October 2026, Ukraine attacked the Radkinsky pilot plant in the Tver region, Togliattikuchuk in the Samara region, Omsk rubber in the Omsk region, Azot in the Tula region, and the Bashkir soda company in Bashkortostan.
