A court in Hamburg refused to dismiss the case against the Ukrainian Sergei Kuznetsov, who was accused of involvement in the Nord Stream bombing. The Ukrainian publication "Thank you" reported this from the courtroom. Kuznetsov's defense filed a motion to dismiss the case. Lawyers argued that his duty not to disclose information about his military service interferes with his right to an effective defense. However, prosecutor Stefan Schmidt opposed the dismissal of the case. He pointed out that the obligation to keep state secrets in itself does not indicate the impossibility of guaranteeing the right to effective protection. Kuznetsov is accused of complicity in a war crime - attacking civilian objects, as well as detonating, destroying buildings and disrupting gas supply plants.
