Former political prisoner Andrey Pochubot announced plans to return to Belarus and stay there forever, he told the Republic publication. According to him, he plans to travel to Belarus in December 2026. Pochobot already went to Belarus in September this year. During his stay in Belarus, as he reported, a law enforcement officer came to his apartment, who asked where he worked, how long he would be in Belarus, and also informed him that he had to report to the police station. However, the next day he received a call from the police and was informed that he did not need to come. Andrzej Puchobot is a Belarusian journalist and an activist of the Union of Poles in Belarus. He was arrested in March 2021, and in February 2023 he was sentenced to eight years in a maximum security colony on charges of inciting hatred and calling for actions aimed at harming national security.
