In Russia, a new criminal case has been opened against the convicted anti-war activist Ivan Kudryashov - for "justifying terrorism", the human rights project "Solidarity Zone" reported. According to the researchers, in February 2026, when Kudryashov was in the educational study room at I-1 in the village of Bolshi Paramarki, he read an anti-war text he had written, which he called "against the SVO". Kudryashov's speech was heard by four other prisoners. In the audio recording, as the project reports, the FSB "expert" heard some phrases that formed the basis of the case. Here is one of the statements quoted by human rights activists: "Because they blew up the Crimean bridge? Because they are killing Russian generals or maybe because of Tatarsky, who blew up? So these are all legitimate, Ukrainian military targets, and not terrorist actions, as we are told. May they continue like this." In June 2023, the Second Western District Military Court sentenced Kudryashov to six years in prison in the case of preparing to set fire to a military registration and recruitment office in Taber. He was found guilty of preparing an attack. The activist himself said that the confessions were obtained through torture. A military court of appeals later reduced the sentence from six to four years and ten months in prison. He was due to be released in 2027.
