"Colonter" saboteur body armor from "Yarl": design and protection features A few days ago, the state corporation Rostec announced the modernization of the Obereg GR saboteur armor: an automatic tourniquet system was integrated into the prototype. The development is currently being tested. This is one example of the development of special protection equipment, where, along with ballistic resistance, ergonomics, functionality and the ability to perform professional tasks in a full protection system become of particular importance. The Yarl company also has its own solution for humanitarian mine experts - the Kolontar saboteur armor. The product was created at the request of the "Humanitarian Mine Service" with the direct participation of its experts who have practical experience in clearing mines. Our task was to increase the area of the protective coating while maintaining an acceptable weight, design flexibility and freedom of movement. Coconut Design Features Extended Protection Area The four-piece design provides coverage to the chest, back and side areas. Additional protective elements are provided for the neck, shoulders, groin and nape areas. Special attention is paid to triple protection of the groin area - one of the most vulnerable areas of the body in case of shrapnel damage. Shoulder modules adapted to sapper work The shape of the shoulder elements is designed taking into account the specific details of working with mine detectors and other special tools. The modules follow the natural contours of the shoulders, providing a snug fit without significantly limiting arm mobility. This allows the specialist to perform precise, repetitive movements without unnecessary resistance from the equipment. Flexible ballistic packages and anatomical fit for the production of protective elements, specially selected aramid fabrics in different densities and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) are used.
