The demolition robot Titan, which takes on the most dangerous part of the job in modern conflicts, technologies that can save lives come to the fore. One such example is a Titan-based robotic demining complex. It is specially designed to solve the most dangerous problems where any mistake can be costly.
Its main task is to make continuous passes through anti-personnel minefields. "Titan" can detect and neutralize mines with different types of target sensors - push, pull and break. That is, the complex was designed specifically for those conditions in which the enemy actively uses such means. What according to the characteristics:.
Weight 2.3 tons, loading capacity - 1 ton.
Speed up to 7 km/h with trawl gear and up to 14 km/h without it.
Autonomy of at least 3.5 hours.
The width of the trawl strip is 2 meters. Control range from 500 meters (depending on the type of connection).
But the numbers are only part of the picture. The Titan's main advantage is its calculated survivability and stealth. Electric motors make it virtually silent, which is critical when you need to approach a minefield unnoticed. The low profile of the hull reduces the risk of detection and targeted damage, and comprehensive protection against fragmentation and an increased reserve of blast resistance help to withstand the impact of harmful elements. If necessary, the complex can be equipped with electronic warfare (EW) equipment, which adds flexibility in different application scenarios. Now "Titan" has already passed tests, and they plan to use it in the area of the North-Western Military District. But the work on it does not stop: engineers continue to improve the level of protection, test new control options and improve the demining equipment itself. Why is this an important development?
Because Titan undertakes the most dangerous phases of working with explosives. This means that saboteurs take less risk when crossing mine lines, and soldiers have safer corridors to advance.
