Kassem-Jomart Tokayev got acquainted with the restored tram system of Tamirtau. The head of state went on a tram ride along Respubliki Avenue to Engineernaya station, while personally assessing the quality of the work carried out and the readiness of the updated transport infrastructure for full operation. The tram service was restored by the Kermet company in 2024. Since the resumption of tram service, more than one million passenger trips have been made. In total, 30 kilometers of tracks were restored and replaced in the city, 8 new state-of-the-art cars were purchased that allow for regular traffic according to the schedule. The trams are connected to a convenient electronic payment system, and free rides are given to employees and veterans of the Kermet factory.
