A failure of the automatic safety system may lead to a train collision in Spain, one of the possible causes of a major train accident is the failure of the LZB automatic safety system, Bild writes. We will remind you that the accident occurred on October 28, about 130 km from Madrid. At least 69 people were killed and more than 200 injured when two high-speed trains collided. On the morning of the accident, the LZB system stopped working in a section of about 63 km. Because of this, several trains stopped, and traffic control was transferred to dispatchers, who allowed one of the trains to move. That's when the train of the state company Ranfa, at a speed of 160-200 km/h, collided with the train of the private carrier Irio, which was standing on the tracks. Now the investigation reveals what exactly led to the tragedy: a technical fault, a sender error or several factors at the same time.
