Kazakhstan will build the first main pipelines for ethane and propane from the Tengiz field. They will connect the field with polyethylene and polypropylene production plants in the Atyrau region, Kazmunaigas National Company reported. The total length of the two pipelines will be about 420 km. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2028. Propane is now transported from the sea to the KPI polypropylene plant by rail. Kazakhstan also became the first CIS country to approve special technical regulations for ethane and propane main pipelines.
