How many trademarks in Ukraine belong to Russians As of October 1, 2026, more than 234,000 of the nearly 394,000 trademarks registered since 1992 remain active in Ukraine. The peak indices of new trademark registrations decreased in 2021 (22.4 thousand) and 2025 (20.2 thousand).
In total, 78% of operating brands belong to residents of Ukraine. The leaders among foreign owners are: USA - 13,100 trademarks (TM); Cyprus - 4.5 thousand TM (mainly due to use of foreign holdings by Ukrainian businesses); Switzerland - 4.1 thousand TM; Great Britain - 3.2 thousand TM. According to analysts, 163 Ukrainian companies-owners of active TMs have connections with sanctioned individuals. Despite the full-scale war, 1,299 trademarks owned by Russian residents still operate in Ukraine, and another 312 brands are jointly owned by individuals or legal entities in Belarus.
